Help your kids shape their lives

“What can I best pass on to the child in my life?”

This question is most often asked to me by parents, teachers, friends of children. In this article I will list some advice that I often give. Most of the tips are mnemonics to help you remember what you already know.

When I decided that I wanted children, I was blessed with a lot of loving support from Spirit and the good example of my parents and grandparents. In addition, I had been a teacher at a public school in the inner city for several years, which allowed me to observe several children. These experiences made me ask myself what I wanted for them even before my children were born. I came to the conclusion that I wanted them to become beautiful people, each contributing to this planet in their own unique way.

I saw it as my job to give them the tools they would need to find their way in this world and get satisfaction out of their lives. When I thought about it, I realized that the most important tool I could give them was self-esteem, so that they would have the confidence to face challenges that come their way. Think about what your goal is for the children, hold that intention, ask for guidance and work towards it with your children.Help je kinderen hun leven vorm te geven

Everyone wants to be a good parent, teacher or friend. Nobody wants to do shitty work, so where do you start? With yourself! Do your very best to be honest and candid about your feelings. If you are having trouble loving yourself, seek help to build a good relationship with your inner self. If you come into conflict with a child, tell them how you feel, listen to how the child feels, and explain that you want to find a solution that works for everyone. And then do that!

Helping children by offering choices

With children it is important that you offer them concrete choices that are appropriate for their age. The more choices you allow and respect, the more confident, stronger and more independent the child will become. Learn to recognize choices in all kinds of small things and you will see that you no longer have to fight so many power struggles. Do you want to wear the red or the blue shirt? Do you want an apple or an orange? You know what I mean!

Create a safe environment in which a child of any age feels free to express themselves, not just verbally, but in every possible area, for example musically, artistically or physically. Personally, I think most kids have way too many toys and spend too much time looking at a screen. This limits rather than stimulates their creativity. We have produced a nation of children who expect to be entertained every moment of the day and are unable to entertain themselves for a while. It does children good to be outside in nature every day, to run, walk and play. Give them different sized balls, blocks to build with, sand and water to experiment with.

Remember how much fun we used to have building sandcastles? With some fancy dress, costumes, old jewelry and scarves they can act. Some simple musical instruments, finger paint and large pieces of paper to draw on are also a great idea. I have always realized that every person has the need to be able to express themselves freely in different ways. Sing and dance with your kids, mess with them or let them have a good time, take them outside and talk about the world around you. If your child is still small, educate yourself and see the world through her eyes.

This can really give you a different perspective because you see things that you haven’t really paid attention to for a long time. finger paint and large pieces of paper to draw on are a great idea.

Silence

Try to build a moment of silence into your family every day. Most people don’t know how to be quiet, can’t even give themselves fifteen minutes of rest. In the busy world we live in, that is seen as a waste of time or a luxury and not the basic need it actually is.

Many new children are in close contact with Spirit, see things that adults do not and have a rich inner life, if we support and stimulate them in this. Listen to what they have to say, it can lead to great conversations about the world of the spirit. Years ago, I was trying to focus to see the auric field around the trees, and my eleven-year-old twin daughters asked me what I was doing. I felt a bit silly and explained that I had read a book about auras. “Do you mean the light and the colors around the trees and people? they asked. I stared at them in surprise and asked if they could see all those things.Help je kinderen hun leven vorm te geven

A little confused they said they saw that too. When I asked them why they never said anything about it, they replied that they never thought about it because they thought everyone could see it. Wow! Be attentive, encourage your children to show how they experience the world around them, and give them as much affirmation as you can.

One of the most beautiful things my father gave me is to trust my inner knowing. He called it common sense, but it comes down to the same thing. When I asked him a question, he spoke calmly: “You already know the answer yourself. Use common sense. That will never mislead you!” Thank you, Dad! If your child has lost a toy, advise her to ask herself where she put it. Trust me, she will find it again and you have nurtured her confidence and self-esteem.

Create a safe environment where your child can be himself, express his individuality and shape his life. Let him feel that he is unique in this universe, that he is never alone and that he is loved dearly, by Spirit and by you. Empower who she is, what she feels, sees and knows. Tell her she can ask the angels to wrap their wings around her at night when she sleeps. And when she goes out into the world, don’t urge her to be careful, but tell her “Always remember who you are!”
