We have known for a long time that food plays a major role in how we look. Vitamin C in lemon promotes the production of collagen, which in turn ensures more beautiful skin and fewer wrinkles.

A study of 4000 women between the ages of 40 and 74  (2) showed that a higher intake of vitamin C resulted in more beautiful skin and fewer wrinkles.

Finally, study (3) showed that the smell of lemon alone had a positive effect on the mood of the test subjects. The feeling of stress decreased and their mood increased. So if you are stressed, the aroma of lemon can give your mood a boost.

Do it in three steps

Just a few additional tips, as easy as it may seem. Many bacteria accumulate in your mouth during the night. It is therefore wise to first rinse your mouth with water and spit it out or brush your teeth.

Then heat a large mug of water and squeeze half a lemon. Add the lemon juice to the warm water and drink it in small sips all at once before breakfast.

The acid of lemon damages the enamel of teeth. Therefore, rinse your mouth a few times with lukewarm water to remove the acid. If you are not used to drinking water on an empty stomach, it can make you a bit nauseous. Start with small amounts and build up slowly as your body adjusts.
