How to learn from autumn: this is the time to grow spiritually
Anyone interested in high sensitivity will undoubtedly know her. This article gives advice on how to get through autumn in a balanced way. “This is the time to grow spiritually.”

The boundary between the earthly and the heavenly is thinning

We must learn to let go of our expectations: even the familiar no longer appears to be the case. Autumn is a time of letting go. The old form has had its day, the news is not yet approaching. So we can receive the silence and the rest. Like spring, autumn is a phase of change: from the ‘yang’ in the summer to the ‘yin’ in the winter.

Many find change difficult, and in this challenging time letting go takes on a whole new dimension: we have to learn to let go of our expectations. Even the familiar, the obvious no longer appears to be the case. It demands a certain resignation and invites us to free ourselves from strong feelings of fear and control.

Autumn has traditionally been the season of increasing spirituality and transcendence (experiencing oneness with the universe). Think of the traditional holidays of All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day, and Halloween. We also say: that the boundary between the tangible and the intangible, the earthly and the heavenly is thinner. So this is the period to grow spiritually to higher consciousness. Balance at this time of year expresses itself in mildness, wisdom, the meditative state of calm and patience, compassion, silence, willingness to change, tolerance, making contact with the primal source, and celebrating old age.

First aid in the fall

What can you do to get through this period better?

  • Use a light alarm clock. This allows the transition between night and day to be gradual.
  • Be aware of the effect of weather changes on your health. 50 to 70 percent of people are sensitive to weather changes, such as storms, changes in air pressure and rapid changes in temperature. HSPs (highly sensitive people) certainly belong to this group. Many studies show that weather changes affect more than 50 percent of experienced health complaints.
  • Start meditating (again) during this time, practice mindfulness, or do yoga.
  • Keep a night book where you write down dreams, signs, and visions.
  • Make conscious contact with your higher self. This helps in this time of uncertainty to react less from fear, annoyance, and control and more from wisdom and mildness. Ask yourself: If I were given advice from an enlightened person, such as Buddha, Christ, Kwan Yin or Isis, what would they advise me to do in this situation?

The power of the season

How to learn from autumn: this is the time to grow spiritually

The more you can live in balance with the seasons, the more you discover meaning and logic in your own existence. Changes are there for a reason: they teach you to grow on a deep level. A plant or animal also lives with the seasons. For millions of years, the bond between nature and man has been developed in an ingenious way and based on balance. Over the past century(s), we humans have stepped out of that natural context through an era of industrialization, commercialization, and digitization. Often at the expense of our health and well-being.

Seasons and cycles help you grow more and more in your natural strength. You will become more resilient and happier if you know how to connect with the essential power and energy of each season.
