This applies not only at the micro level but also at the macro level. The environment should not be too suffocating, offer sufficient freedom, but also show warmth and understanding. Being independent and growing is only possible if there is room to be independent. Sometimes a little extra care can be nice, when there is chaos and you don’t know which way to go. Then you can’t do it alone and you need a safe, maternal base.
This is how the government now provides guidance, as a loving mother figure. Ensures that we do not get stifled by the rules, but that we experience sufficient basic safety. It is a difficult balance between structure and offering freedom. And what feels right will be different for everyone.
Apparently, our adaptability is very great. If you now see images of people standing or sitting close to each other, it already looks strange. A new reality is born. And it’s completely different from a few months ago.
The country where you live determines the way in which people respond. On a small scale, your upbringing and the place where you grew up determine what you think is normal. What you pay attention to also determines what you see as truth. And your thoughts about this cause certain feelings in your body and how you react. An interesting mix of behaviors can be seen in this way.
The power of our thoughts (feelings and behavior)
So what do you pay attention to? Are those negative messages (and thoughts about this) or do you focus on the positive changes in the world? Be still first to discover how and who you want to be. Go to your feeling, what do you feel? Pay attention to that. What do you think? Write that down. Are you clear about what you want? Then take steps to do and experience what you want.
Don’t give too much attention to negative thoughts. Reassure yourself it’s going to be okay. A solution is found for everything.
Sit down, have a cup of chamomile tea, and go over the following points for yourself:
- What event affects you?
- What do you feel? What feelings come up every time?
- What thoughts do you have about this? What do you pay attention to?
- What behavior is associated with these feelings and thoughts?
- What are the consequences of this?
- What do you want to change?
To get an extra overview, you can write everything down. Then put it away and let it go. After this you are of course not there yet, but the first step is there in any case. Change comes in small steps, as long as you keep that in mind, you’ll be fine.
Now back to chamomile. Chamomile is a plant that can support this process. Chamomile, or Chamomille Matricaria, comes from the Latin word ‘mater’ which means mother. And ‘caria’ which means care.
From plant to mens
Chamomile is a plant that can dominate quickly. It can crowd out and suffocate other plants. Chamomile symbolizes the mother figure, where you can gain new energy. And it stands for understanding and warmth. However, maternal care can also spill over into over-anxiety and become stifling. Then there is no more room to grow and become independent.
Chamomile is good for mothers’ children who are dependent and feel insecure. He doesn’t feel up to life. But it also suits people who dedicate themselves too much to others. Wanting more and more, not being able to handle that and becoming overwrought and exhausted as a result. Chamomile gives peace and a new life force.
Chamomile has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system. Especially with complaints caused by stress. In case of fatigue and insomnia, when you are anxious, have nightmares or are homesick. It also has a beneficial effect on digestion. Has an analgesic and calming effect on stomach and intestinal disorders.
It inhibits inflammation and is an excellent herb for children. In rapidly emerging infectious diseases with fever or teething. Also with various inflammations such as bladder, eye or sinus inflammation.
It can be used well as a compress, on the eyes, but also on poorly healing or inflammatory wounds. As a steam bath for a cold, acne or polluted skin. And of course to use as a tea or tincture.
Give your eyes a rest with this eye compress for hay fever, tired eyes or inflammation.
- Place 1 tbsp finely chopped chamomile (can also be added with marigold and/or rose petals) in a glass bowl.
- Pour 5 dl hot water (slightly cooled) over it and let it steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain the liquid through a cheesecloth or coffee filter (unbleached)
- With this amount, you can pour it into a glass bottle and keep it in the fridge for about a week. Of course, you can also make a smaller amount.
Chamomile tea is of course very well known. Drink it before going to sleep, it gives peace of mind and has a calming effect, possibly in combination with other soothing herbs such as passion flower. You can also use the tea for infections of the throat, cold and flu, it reduces clogged bronchi and increases resistance.
