The Law of Attraction: “You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are.”


In summary: The ‘law of attraction’ is a popular concept about manifesting what you want. It has become more popular as more people want to have a deeper influence on their lives. What is the difference between what your mind/ego wants and what your heart wants? The desires of your soul come from the real you, while those of your mind often come from society and media. Can you distinguish them?

A few weeks ago I watched a documentary titled ” The Shift, Ambition To Meaning ” featuring beloved author and spiritual teacher Dr. Wayne DyerThe film asks a question about the law of attraction and how it works. dr. Dyer gave a simple answer, which was, “You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are.” That stayed with me and has helped me a lot ever since.

When I thought about all the things I wanted in life, and compared that to where I am now, how I behave now and what I do on a daily basis, it became absolutely clear to me why things were not going the way I would like.

You literally have to be what you want to become; when I read that quote from Dr. Dyer heard, it was like someone turned on a light in my head. I realized that in order to achieve what I know in my heart I want for myself, I must be that thing and live that truth wherever I can.

It’s one thing to say ‘I want a partner who meets the criteria x, y and z  . Do you meet those criteria yourself? Perhaps you want to be healthy and free from disease, but have not yet taken the necessary steps to take care of your health? If you want to be lean and toned, are you working towards achieving it?

This seems pretty obvious, but it’s amazing how often we want something and yet do nothing to work towards it. That’s one of the things that the standard theory of the law of attraction ignores. It’s not as easy as ‘this is what I want, I’m going to focus all my energy and attention on this until I get it’.

That won’t work. Instead, we should focus our energy, intention and attention on beingof what we want. It also makes a big difference whether it’s about your true heart’s desire and not just something we want because it’s all the rage these days.

Yes, this too falls under the category of the law of cause and effect, which you can read more about here. Sometimes it helps to think about the notion of ‘fake it till you make it’, even if we can only dream of being the person we’ve always wanted to be .

But how can you pretend if you don’t have what your heart desires? How do you change your perspective so that you see that you already have everything you need, are grateful for it, and start living as if you already have everything your heart desires?I can feel good if I don't think

Giving thanks to the Universe for what you have doesn’t necessarily come down to ‘Okay, this is what I have and that’s enough’. Rather, you are saying that you know you are being taken care of and that you are willing to maintain that and move to the next level.

All right, so you’re not a first-class pianist; how can you imitate that dream? Can you imagine playing in front of a huge audience? Or in the case of a dream house you’ve always wanted, can you be thankful for the house you do have and imagine that the house you live in is that dream? When your friends come over, can you guide them through your house the same way you would in your dream home?

This may sound nonsensical, but again, ‘you don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are’.

Another positive exercise

This reminded me of a lesson from one of my other favorite authors, Dr. Joe Dispenza . With regard to the law of attraction, he believes that when you envision in your mind what you want, you should not approach it from a place of lack or not having something, nor even think how much you want it. want to have. By doing that you are sending the Universe the message that you don’t have it.

dr. Dispenza advises us, when imagining our hopes and dreams, not only to form an image in which we fulfill our dreams, but also to take in our hearts a sense of gratitude for having and fulfilling this dream. So essentially it’s not about what you want, with your mind, and imagining this, with your mind. You also have to FEEL it, really feel it and believe with all your heart that your dream has already come true, and then imitate that gratitude with a big smile on your face.

What is really in your interest?

It is also important to understand that the soul gets what it needs. So if your mind/ego wants a red Ferrari, while that doesn’t serve the evolution and soul of your soul, then that Ferrari may not be available. This understanding can be the start of a long self-examination in which you figure out what you really want in life.

If you are not happy now, is material possessions what you lack? The Universe is ALWAYS behind you, so if you can determine what your soul really desires, it will always help you take the next step towards your purpose and potential. So there is no reason that you cannot achieve your dream. You just have to believe that you are already there and trust the process. Life doesn’t work against you, however much it may seem – especially in difficult times.

Remove Doubt

Easier said than done . Did that thought just flash by? A very normal reaction, especially if you approach this from your mind. But, regardless of the outcome of the experiment, what have you got to lose? You risk nothing by giving the Universe your thanks. Even if that’s all you accomplished with this, at least you’ve put yourself in a state of gratitude .

For me personally, doors started to open the moment I behaved more like I wanted to be; doors that didn’t even seem to exist before. I bumped from obstacle to obstacle because I was not living according to my highest truth, or even approaching my potential.

As a first step, I reflected on my behavior – I chose to escape my feelings of incompetence, doubt and face the victimhood over these, see them for what they are, feel them and let them go – then I worked on what I did want was to let go of the things that weren’t working, and then things quickly started to change.

What do you want? Who do you want to be? What are you interested in? “You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are.”
